Step aside cable and streaming services because on this week's show we pay tribute to some amazing, and sometimes overlooked, network TV dramas. It's time to give some love to a few of our favorite hour-long network shows. These shows changed the landscape of TV and forced other networks and cable channels alike to step up their game. Some had short runs and some lasted years, but all of these shows deserve a viewing. Presented without commercial interruption, the Super Five Podcast.
After a battle with the Black Death, the Super Five Podcast is back among the living (or so we would have you think). This week we travel back in time (not literally, this ain't the year 2000 people!) to discuss some of the movies that influenced the spirit of this podcast and why they are so special to us. This is our origin story...*cue dramatic music*
Break out your Aquanet hairspray and try desperately to zip your leather pants because the Super Five Podcast is taking you back to 1980's excess. In this episode, we reflect of our 80's childhood that was full of MTV, dudes that looked like ladies and not so subtle sexual innuendos. We discuss our favorite 80's frontmen and what made them so special to us. Who's ready to rock and/or roll?
In this week's episode we talk about some of our favorite British entertainers and their great contributions to American culture. We stick to what we know best: movies and music, but we all know America wouldn't have a shred of dignity left were it not for our allies across the pond. So, grab your tea and a biscuit and enjoy our salute to British brilliance.
No bells and whistles with this week's podcast; just more Star Wars nerdery. We discuss how our predictions about The Force Awakens went and discuss our favorite moments from the film. For those who haven't seen the movie yet this contains spoilers, obviously. Also, this podcast is dedicated to The Space Oddity himself.
A week ago, in a sun room not far away...We geeked out about the new Star Wars film. In honor of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, we give you our Super Five of burning questions about this new flick. All of our hopes and dreams depend on this movie being good. So, if it bombs you may never hear from the Skillern Bros. again...you wish. May the Force be with you, but mostly just this podcast. Enjoy, you will!
Thanksgiving week is upon us! This is the time of the year when we think about all the things we are thankful for and then complain every other day of the year. Well, this year The Bros. Skillern say, "That's lame." So, here we present some things we are very grateful for and our Super Five of edible Thanksgiving favorites; and we challenge you to be more thankful all year long. Happy Thanksgiving!
Here we are again with next groundbreaking episode of The Super Five Podcast! In this episode, Matthew and I talk about some of our favorite sports movies while simultaneously trying not to put anyway to sleep. Please comment with some of your favorite sports movies or just tell us what you think. If you have ideas for Super Fives that you would like our take on let us know in the Contact section. We enjoy what we're doing and we hope you have a chuckle or find our take interesting in some way. Happy Listening from the SkillBros!
This is it! The moment you have all been waiting for...our first Podcast! Through this Podcast we hope to explore our hopes, dreams, fears, triumphs, tragedies, our many failures and maybe even change a few lives along the way with the power of our useless, wandering, subjective top five lists. We hope you enjoy us laughing at our own jokes and delivering ill-prepared soliloquies. Being that this is scary for all of us, we thought that we should start our successful run to the top with a Halloween edition of The Super Five Podcast. In this episode we discuss out five favorite Halloween movies. We would love to hear from you about your favorite scary movies or even what scares you in real life. We hope you enjoy our first, and maybe last, The Super Five Podcast. -Kevin
