Thankful

I know it isn't quite Thanksgiving yet, but that's really the point isn't it?... I know many of us are thankful for what we have everyday, but maybe we miss taking the time to dwell in the things that we are thankful for each day we wake up. There are a few things that we all have in common... We all have a unique story that has shaped us into the person we are, and that story never stops writing itself throughout our entire life. We all have had to deal w/ something super hard or traumatic at one time or another. Maybe you have shared this w/ other people and maybe you haven't, but the point is you are never alone, even when it feels like you are. The main point is... WE ALL HAVE THINGS TO BE THANKFUL FOR! So here's what I am thankful for everyday... and everyday brings something new.

I am thankful for a family that always loves and supports me no matter how much of an asshole I have been or how annoying I maybe be at times. They are always there when I need them.

I am thankful for my 92 year old grandmother who has been a source of endless tranquility throughout my little life. She always has a kind word, bit of humor or a card that comes to me in the mail, that makes my day better. She's been there my whole life and I am so lucky to have her in my life!

I am thankful my mom who always listens to me and never judges me. She just loves me. And she has become one of my best friends in the world. She is always there to offer free advice and tell me I am a good guy when I need to hear it.

I am thankful for my dad who is there when I need him and who always helps in whatever way he can. He's a pretty good dude.

I am thankful my brother Kevin who is the most stand up guy I know. He always helps me put things in perspective and is super patient w/ his train wreck of an older brother... who I am sure annoys the hell out of him sometimes :)  And Leslie is a pretty cool Sister-in-law too! She looks out for me even when she thinks I don't notice!

I am thankful for my little nephew Leo, who has become an endless source of joy in my life. I could be having the worst day in the world, and that kid flashes me a smile or I hear his little giggle, and I feel no pain!

I am thankful for all of the kind people who have bought and read my little comic... The support is overwhelming at times and everyone is so gracious and kind! That goes for all the fellow creators I have met this year too! Incredible!

I am thankful that I have my art! It centers me and calls me.

I am thankful for my job... I get to help people, and that's a pretty cool thing... It's stressful at times, but seeing people be successful and knowing I have even a tiny hand in it, is pretty sweet!

I am thankful for my amazing friends... Old and new! I seriously don't know what I would do if I didn't have these guys. They always make me laugh and in my buddy Aaron's words... they help lift you up when you need them to! I am even thankful for my buddy Doug's red ass hair because it give me an endless supply of jokes... most of which he has heard his whole life, which really makes it even more fun... Oh and thanks for not killing me yet, Doug.

I am thankful for my comics, toys and film because they are inspiring and beautiful to me, and I love to enjoy them!

I am thankful for learning how to eat right, stay fit and take care of myself because I have come to believe this reflects in the soul.

I am thankful I have a warm bed to sleep in at night and I am always thankful to wake up to another day. My grandpa used to say we only get so many heartbeats so we better enjoy the time we have!

I am thankful for two very special dogs that have brought me so much more joy than anyone could really know. They truly are man's best friend. I love them very much.

I am thankful for being lucky in love... Some people go their whole lives w/ out ever truly being loved by someone or loving someone themselves... I can tell you this isn't true of my life. I have been loved and loved deeply and truly, and for this I am endlessly thankful.

So there is a ton more that I am thankful for, but this would be an incredibly long list. So if you want to share a few things you are thankful for, please do. Everyone enjoy the coming holidays and look after the ones you love.
